Core Documents Required by All Applicants
The documents listed below are required by all applicants regardless of the eVisa type they are applying for.
Passport Bio Page Scan
Upload a colored and high-resolution scan of your passport bio page.
The scan should clearly show:
- Applicant’s photo, nationality, passport details
- MRZ code (present at the bottom of the page)
Passport Validity Requirement
Expired passports are not allowed. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival in Indonesia.
Applicant Photograph
Submit a recent, digital photo of the applicant taken against a solid white background.
The photo must clearly show the full face of the applicant while looking directly at the camera.
What’s not allowed?
- Headgear, shades or any object obstructing the applicant’s face.
- Heavy filters, edits or retouches.
- Screenshots, poor-quality and black and white images
Bank Statement (last 3 months, min. USD $2000 or equivalent)
Submit a bank statement as proof of sufficient funds. The statement must:
- Cover the past 3 months
- Display your full name
- Show a closing balance of at least USD 2,000 or the equivalent in another currency.
Additional Documents by eVisa Type
1. C1- Tourist Visitor Visa (90 Days, Single Entry)
No extra documents are needed other than the 3 core documents (Passport, Photo, Bank Statement).
2. D1-Tourist Visa (1, 2, or 5 Years)
For frequent travellers who prefer to get the paperwork done once and visit multiple times.
Also provide any ONE of the following:
Opt. A: Invitation/letter from a government or private institution
Invitation/letter from a Government Agency or Private institution that explain the relationship with the applicant.
The letter must include:
- Full name, passport number and nationality of the applicant
- Purpose of visit and duration of stay
- Official stamp and signature (where applicable)
Opt. B: Statement from spouse/parents with family card
A formal statement letter from the spouse or parents is required.
It must include:
- Explanation of the relationship with the applicant
- Activities to be carried out in Indonesia
- An attached family card as supporting proof
3. Medical Treatment eVisa (90 Days)
Medical travel is about more than the treatment itself; a smooth entry matters just as much. Provide the following documents at the time of application, along with the common requirements:
Guarantee Letter from Guarantor
A proof of a guarantee letter from the guarantor. The details must include:
- Applicant and guarantor names
- Nationality and passport numbers
- Occupation and relationship
Medical Treatment Statement
The statement must be from a government/private institution or the applicant, explaining your condition, required treatment, and hospital details.
For Medical Treatment eVisa (1 or 2 Years), in addition to the above-mentioned documents, also upload:
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Submit a clear copy of a Curriculum Vitae outlining your personal, educational and professional background in support of your eVisa application.
Travel Itinerary
- Provide a clear scan of a round-trip flight booking confirmation.
- No detail should be obscured while clearly showing the passenger’s name, arrival and departure dates.
4. Business eVisa (Single-Entry 90 Days)
For travellers making business visits to Indonesia.
Invitation / letter from the Institution
Submit an invitation letter from the institution explaining the details of the applicant's business engagement.
Ensure the invitation is on company letterhead, signed by an authorised representative, and clearly states your purpose. Vague wording can land your file in the “request more information” pile.
For Multiple Entry Business Visa (1, 2, or 5 Years)
- Proof of Guarantee from the Guarantor
- Statement from spouse/parents with family card
5. Government Business Visa (90 Days, Single Entry)
When your trip involves dealings with Indonesian government agencies, the invitation or statement must reflect that formality.
Guarantee letter from Guarantor
Provide a guarantee letter from your Indonesian guarantor supporting your government business visit and visa application for Indonesia.
Invitation or statement from a government agency
Upload either an invitation letter or a statement from a Government Agency.
Must include:
- Applicant details as per passport
- Purpose of visit and travel dates
- Stay details (hotel or host)
- Host agency details and relationship
Why it matters: This letter is your formal proof of recognition. Without it, your application will not progress.
For Government Business Visa (1 or 2 Years Multiple Entry)
- Invitation or statement from a Government Agency

6. Journalist eVisa
For travellers visiting Indonesia for journalism or media-related activities.
Government Invitation, Interview Approval, or Embassy Statement
Provide any ONE of the following documents:
- An invitation letter from a government institution.
- An approved interview confirmation or transcript.
- A statement from the Indonesian Embassy confirming your planned news coverage, along with your press ID.
Note: Whichever document you choose, make sure it includes the coverage details such as location, duration, and planned publication date.
7. Filming eVisa (90 Days, Single entry)
If your shoot is a one-time project:
Guarantee letter from Guarantor
Provide a guarantee letter from your Indonesian guarantor supporting your filming activities and visa application.
The document must include:
- Applicant’s and guarantor’s names
- Nationality and passport numbers
Filming Location Permit from the Relevant Ministry
Provide a valid filming location permit issued by the Relevant Indonesian authority for your filming activities.

Special Guidance for Document Preparation
- Bank Statements: Show your name, dates, and balance in full. Pixelated or cropped pages are a quick route to rejection.
- Invitation Letters: Include all names, addresses, and contact numbers. If an officer needs to verify details, they should be able to do it instantly.
- Medical & Guarantee Letters: Must be signed and address them to “The Director General of Immigration, Indonesia”.
- Filming Permits: Include your sponsor’s letter, exact filming locations and dates, full crew list with passport details, and a signed statement agreeing to comply with Indonesian laws.
